Authors

Two people are behind what gets published here. One researches and writes the guides. The other checks the sourcing and keeps the site accountable, without putting a byline on the guides themselves.

Jessica Martinez

Jessica Martinez

Contributing Writer, Auto Glass Cost Research. Jessica writes the cost guides on this site: what a windshield runs by vehicle and glass type, how ADAS recalibration changes the bill, and how insurance deductibles play out state by state. Her research draws on published auto glass parts pricing, labor-rate surveys, and state insurance statute text, not hands-on installation work, and she is not a certified auto glass technician. When a question needs an actual inspection, her guides say so and point readers to a shop rather than guess at what a camera or a chip looks like in person. She writes cost guides for several sites in this network, each covering a different repair category.

Chris Terry

Founder and Editor. Chris built Windshield Replacement Cost and checks every guide against the sourcing rules on the editorial standards page. He is not an auto glass technician and does not write the guides; that is Jessica's work. His role is oversight: making sure the calculator's assumptions hold up and handling any correction that needs more than a quick source check.

Why the byline does not change page to page

Every guide on this site carries Jessica's name because she is the one who researched and wrote it. We do not publish under a house name, and we do not invent a review board of certified technicians to sound more authoritative than a research-and-writing operation actually is. If a second writer contributes here, their name goes on what they wrote, not on someone else's work.
